Mendocino coast

Craig and Kathleen picked us up at the boat and took us south along Highway 1 to a beach near the town of Elk. It was a beautiful day, but the wind got a little too strong, so we headed back to their house for the afternoon and evening. Craig and I had been friends in high school, but out of touch since then until just a few months ago. He and Kathleen are both poets, and Craig is also a singer and songwriter.

Hello Mark and Vicki,

It has been fun reading your blog. Wow! Vicki, you say you estimate arrival in San Francisco around August 25th. You also mentioned checking out the Delta. Tom is off on the 25th and I should be able to make arrangements. I don't know what I was thinking...I thought you would be moving along your journey so much faster...but why should you? This trip is a treasure you and Mark will never forget. Just keep us posted and we will cross our fingers that we can meet up with you!!!

Take care and be safe.

Fondly,
Karen

Congats on making it past Cape Mendicino. Sounds like it was challenging for a bit there. Glad it didn't go on like that for too long. It's so much fun to keep up with you through the blog!
