A pleasant short ride from Trinidad to Humboldt Bay (Eureka) this a.m. We were running away from the kelp flies and got to the Eureka City Marina by 11:00. Another fun ride on our folding Dahon bikes, following the board walk along the water and checking out Old Town. Happy hour today features a fresh made piroshki from the Mity Nice Bakery. We're ready for a layover day (or two) which is good, because a thermal trough is predicted to bring high winds and rough seas to the dreaded Cape Mendocino, only 20 miles or so south of here. We'll wait!

Having a great time following your progress. We were originally planning to just make a dash from Newport to SF but your way is sounding like more fun. How far offshore are you generally traveling when between ports?
